Default 2014 Jaguar xjr engine wire loom

Can someone out there in Jag XJR land help me, I have a 2014 XJR 5.0 supercharged LWB, and I have a bad wire in my engine loom I called a couple of different dealers and got two different part numbers C2D43413 and C2z29895 I see a few 5.0 supercharge looms on e-bay but I have no idea if they will fit, can I please get some guidance? the codes I am getting are the following P168F-00, P0430-00, P0300-00, P0305-00, P0306-00,P0307-00, P308-00,P1315-00. I keep asking My Mechanic if it is the fuel pump timing? but he says it's not out of time? and that the wire loom has a chafe in it, and the last 5.0 supercharge responded to a fresh wire loom. He will put a used on but which of the ones on e-**y will fit? Thanks for any advice in advance. Rob

bob, I would look at that wire loom itself. up near the top of the engine should be a tag. That will have a number on it and that can then be matched up to the correct wiring harness.

Why can't your mechanic repair the damaged portion of the wiring harness instead of replacing it, like in this video? The hardest part of repairing a wiring harness is knowing where the damaged occurred on the harness, and it sounds like your mechanic knows where.

Oh, and please let us know where this chaffing is occurring on the harness so we can proactively add protection to the wires.

The reason I don't repair is that it will cost me more at 120 an hr to find the spot than spending a couple of hundred buying a used loom. I had an issue somewhat like this on a Grand Cherokee, and my guy went inch by inch until we found the problem, a corroded ground buss bar up under the dash, two other shops had told me I would have to replace BCU and ECM I save a lot of $$$$$

That's good to hear that the wiring harness can be replaced so quickly on these cars. On the Mercedes S class, it's a common failure for the engine wiring harness to become contaminated by engine oil due to leaking cam sensors, and it often totals the car because the engine has to come out to replace the harness, so the repair bill is often more than the value of the car.
