Thanks for the pictures too!
You used primer first but most guys just go straight to the color and use no primer.
What primer did you use?
I have the duplicolor caliper spray paint but have read some complaints about the quality on several on-line forums.
I guess I will give it a shot. It's just the calipers.

You can look at #12 post and see what I used. VHT primer, paint, and clear worked perfect.
I had the Duplicolor on my S-Type and the VHT holds up better.
I have a 2015 XJ in the Red, but am having problems with the rear pillars that are Black and have faded a lot. has anyone else had the same issue? I am also in Texas.

Got around to redoing my calipers and they were in pretty good shape after a thorough scrubbing with Dawn and water then going to Simple Green and scrubbing some more.
Decided they only needed a minor touch up so used red caliper paint and a small foam brush. Used white Jaguar vinyl decals and got too big of ones for the front caliper. So I used the same size Jaguar front and rear.
The factory looks to have used flat or satin powder coating on the calipers while the sheet metal cover with the Jaguar is painted a gloss.
Some chipping from me doing the brakes but not bad.
I think it does look better when painted all gloss so in the future I will just repaint it all.
Rear rim and caliper.
Here is the front wheel done.
I would have liked a bigger Jaguar on the fronts but I think it looks OK?
Sure looks better with the clean white Jaguar back in place!

Rear Pillars faded on both sides.
I contacted the dealer and no luck, then Jaguar US and while they did not take care of it they sent me a couple of Coupons that will ease the pain while I find another solution.
Thanks, that really helps and I will try it. Also, I was admiring the list of your vehicles and lot of Jags, but it was the 1965 Lotus Cortina that caught my eye. I still have fond memories of a 1965 Cortina GT I had that was bored out and was fun to drive but I always loved the look of the Lotus version. Cheers
Yup loved that car. Had the engine reworked (Ported Polished Balanced and tuned) by my old race shop as we ran Formula Ford in SCCA in 1968 and 1969, I then ran Castrol R in it and put on Koni's (fronts were a kit you installed in the strut tube). Finally traded it is for, believe it or not, a pair of the original Bose 2201 speakers. Thanks for noticing.

Before you go to the trouble and expense of replacing them it may be possible to bring them back to new with a simple polish and some elbow grease.
A had the same problem on a previous car (not a Jag though), nothing I tried worked, but then I attacked the panels with some Meguiars Ultimate Compound, a microfibre cloth and copious amounts of elbow grease. Took four or five passes but came out super shiny smooth and black in the end.
Thanks, I had tried the same stuff, but obviously wimped out too early I will go back and have another try. Also, I had been recommended to use Klasse and may try that. Cheers Kim
You and I have have identical twins!!
My car is a 2014. The white Jaguar was just a vinyl sticker from Ebay so certainly not factory font at all!
Yes I would at least try a buff and polish first. It should work fine on that plastic. Thanks for the picture as I have never seen that piece fade before and I live in very hot and sunny Texas.
