So my 2011 XJ 5.0 N/A portfolio decided to throw an adaptive dynamics fault, resulting in a ride like driving a skateboard. Plugged in my NT520pro and threw up 2 fault codes. (C110D-19 and C110D-64).
The workshop manual states resistance should be between 2.5 and 3.5 ohms for the solenoid. It measured 3.5 ohms at the solenoid and a further 0.7 ohms back to the control module in the boot, so was out of spec. Disconnected the module and using a Dremel with a soft wire rotating brush, cleaned the pin outs, and squirted some CRC co contact cleaner into the connector. Made and broke the connections a few times (same procedure with the connector at the solenoid) and the total resistance came down to 3.0 ohms. Cleared the fault codes and one 35km drive later seems to be behaving itself!
The above pic was measured from the control module end, after checking the resistance of the wire harness by shorting out the pins at the solenoid end to ensure the harness didn't have a break in it.
