Anyone change Front Lower Control Arms? The big ones the shock bolts to?

I ordered a set of these beefy lower control arms. Seems like everything bolts to them! Has anyone done them before themselves? Is it as intensive as it looks? How many hours? Any help is much appreciated.

I replaced those arms before on my old X350. It shouldn't be a problem if you have all the right size sockets. You may want to employ a small jack to raise and lower the arm to help line up and/or take tension off the various bolts, especially the big shock bolt.

You'll also need to remove the brake calipers and rotors in order to get to the ball joint on the wheel knuckle. Separating that from the arm could be a big pain in the ass. You'll need a ball joint separator and possibly a big hammer, and you'll need to be careful not to damage the ball joint boot, otherwise you'll need to replace that as well.

After everything is all buttoned up, you'll most likely need an alignment done.

Good luck!
