battery replace
Hi all.
Can someone tell me exactly which battery I need to put on my 2010 jaguar xj?
I don't have start- stop on my car and in the trunk I have only 1 battery. (Not 2, the little one not exist) do I need an AGM battery?
I saw in 2014 xj a 12v 90ah 850A AGM battery. (But in this car he has a second little battery as well and start -stop.
So someone can please tell me what exactly do I need?

You don't NEED an AGM battery but it's a good idea anyway to use one. They last longer, don't run down as fast and are quicker to recharge.
But if you baulk at the extra cost a normal flooded cell lead acid battery will be perfectly OK.
Your choice.

IIRC that is the stock spec for a 2010 XJ anyway.
You need a different charging profile to get any benefit from AGM. If the car doesn’t have AGM now, charging is set up for flooded, and an AGM would likely have a SHORTER life due to being undercharged.
Bedt rule of thumb is always replace like for like. You need an ordinary flooded battery.

IMHO All x351 Xjs are equipped with AGM batteries from the factory. As a matter of fact my dealer only stocks AGM batteries for the XJ as the electrical system is verty demanding. A CTEK charger is great for prolonging life and deep recycling when needed. Here is what I have:

This is the battery listed in the Jaguar parts catalog for the OPs model year. I think this is not AGM :

While for vehicles with stop / start, it lists this. This one states AGM :

So my assertion is that vehicles without stop/start use a conventional flooded, while if you have stop/start, AGM is required.

I have a 2012 s/c 5.0, and it had an AGM. I replaced with a flooded lead/acid 3 or 4 years ago, and it has been fine, even in ten below Chicago area starts. I do get the occasional "low battery" alarm, but it has never failed me. At the TIME, lead/acid was appreciably more expensive locally, and places like Rock Auto did not carry them, but now they do, since they CAN be shipped commercially, where wet batteries could not. Not sure where you are or what the availability of each is, but you may find the price difference is not that great, and the AGM is just a better battery.
If you want an AGM, I recently got one from Walmart. Size H8.

Mark SF do you have an AGM battery?
I ask because believe it or not my 2014 XJR still has the factory battery and I never get low battery warnings. But I think it will give out soon and since I do have the start/stop stuff think I should get an AGM type battery.

Yes I have the Walmart H8 AGM now. My factory one was 5 years old when I started getting the low voltage warning. Another sign of a tired battery is start stop never working.
These days I’d rather change the battery at 5 years regardless, rather than wait to get stuck somewhere.
