Have you got any Jaguar customers that can speak of their experiences, maybe some dyno results?

We've reprogrammed quite a few forum members cars since we came on. Hopefully they will chime in and share their experiences. As for now, here are a couple pics of a 2011 XJ Supercharged that we reprogrammed a couple months back. Customer opted for tune and pulley.

By the OP description, this "tune" sounds to me it would lean the mixture to achieve those results.

My questions are (I am no expert), if you lean the mixture:

1 - Will this decrease spark plug life span?

2 - Will this cause the engine to operate in slightly higher temperature?

3 - Will the higher temperature damage the catalytic converters?

Having several OBDII muscle cars tuned in the past, I've been through all the good and bad, so I'm just wondering if it's actually worth it to mess with this kind of thing for a few more HP, on such classy car that, in my opinion, was developed by the engineers to operate the way it is.

In no way is the vehicle put in harm to achieve a few extra horsepower. To answer your question:

As we have stated earlier, beneficial features of reprogramming the ECU are not only increased power, but a decrease in fuel consumption as well. As a matter of fact, these vehicles are actually intended to perform and operate better than how they left the factory. Not only Jaguars, but other manufacturers de-tune their vehicles because of careless drivers, poor quality fuel, and neglected maintenance. We bring the vehicle to the factory's optimum performance, and then add more power.

I guess my questions are:
1. Does this have to be done at your shop or is this something that the customer can install?
2. Does this void my precious 5 year warranty?
3. What is the difference between the two quotes below.

Jaguar Supercharged with pulley $1,395 Jaguar 2010- Supercharged with pulley $1,695

Customer has the option of either installing it himself or at our shop. If you do not have the necessary tools, a local auto repair shop should be just fine. Process takes around an hour to remove and reinstall the pulley.

Depending on where you reside in Germany, turnaround time should be same day. What's your postal code? Also, the ECU reprogram is completely undetectable to factory diagnostics.

The difference between the two prices are:

$1,395 - pre 2010

$1,695 - 2010 to present

I am in the military and I a an APO postal code. Which is 09063. It's like mailing to a PO box. Best method of shipping is priority mail or next day. How would I reprogram the ECU myself? As far as the pulley I would have no problem getting that done. I am very interested.

I apologize I didn't clarify. I was speaking about the pulley above. As for the ECU, you can mail it to our head office in Los Angeles or have it programmed there in Germany by one of our dealers.

You say that the ECU reprogramming is completely undetectable to factory diagnostics. What happens when the dealer does a factory update and reflashes the ECU--does this wipe out your special reprogramming?

Prior to reprogramming your ECU, we update it with the latest data straight from the factory and we tune around that. So when you walk into your local service center, they already see that you have the latest software. As time goes by, and if by any chance your ECU gets flashed back to stock, we offer 2 free reflashes where on the third, there is a fee.

In Oklahoma, if the ECU has to be reflashed by you how long is the turn around and how difficult is it to remove by a local shop which clearly can't be the dealer?

Turnaround time for an initial ECU upgrade or re-flash is 24 hours given we receive the ECU pre 10:30am. Removing the ECU is a very simple process and only takes 5-10 minutes. As long as you have basic tools, any average joe can do it.

im located in edmonton, alberta Canada i had my car tunes and pulley installed in less then 5 hours, tech plug'd the ecu mapping into the computer and it was done.

power? hahahahhaa ive owned 3 amg's S,ML, CL65 and now ill be looking to smoke them

So removing and replacing the ECU is a simple task according to you. The Supercharger Pully is another matter I presume.

Since I trust you would not want to do this at the dealer do you need a specialized Jaguar mechanic to do this part?

Also, can you purchase a new ECM for us, tune and allow us to buy a turn key install, so we have a stock ECM...just in case.

I find them online for around $1085, but would be better if it was sent to you and just done (prepaid of course).
