heated wind screen and my brand new XJ

I have my XJ about a week. It drives and looks fantastic.
One huge problem. Although I really could have cared less if it had the heated windscreen the vehicle I got because of the color combo that I wanted had the heated wind screen.
It is driving me crazy. At night it has halo's around street lights and oncoming headlights and brake lights. During the day you can see the little wires and it never looks like you are seeing through a clear windshield. This really sucks.
Anyone else have this option and find the same thing?

I have the same option on a 2005 S-type. I love it. The trick is to not focus on the windshield. It's probably a function of getting used to it.

Haven't noticed the halo at all though.

I have it in my S-type as well. I didn't notice them at all when I first bought the car until I drove the first time at night and saw that halo effect you're talking about.

I don't see them at all now, day or night. I guess I'm just used to them being there and as Toller says, I look through the windscreen and not at it. Mind you, my wife never saw them until I pointed them out. Now she complains that's all she see's. I kindly reminder "Yah, but you're driving a Jaaaag!" Lol.

The first time I used the heated windscreen in the cold, it removed any issues I had with the little wires. You get the same weather in New York we get here - I know you'll be thankful to have them the first time you really use them! :icon_wink:

Cheers,
Rob
