Default Instrument panel color

how do you get the blue glow from the digital dash instrument panel, I know dynamic mode turns it all red, but how do you get the partial blue to show like this https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/oGQAA...0W/s-l1600.jpg
2016 R-Sport it's not one of the "Themes" options, is that only on older model years?

Well, maybe mine does! I've never had a need to use Winter Mode.

When I select "Winter Mode" I get a blue 'car' icon, and a blue a 'snowflake' in the center of the rev counter.

On my 13 50SC it changes the gauges blue in winter mode. It will shift to 2nd gear and only take off in second. And makes throttle input more numb. I enjoy driving in this mode as it’s a lot more relaxing. But fuel use will suffer if frequent stop and go.

Yes I also found the winter mode makes for a very soft and relaxing drive.
Surprised that it made that much of a difference.

Of course I really like the "angry" red display too!

Different question, how do you get the leaper logo to show on the instrument panel screen at startup like the dash screen does, my panel screen starts mostly blank only shows mileage at bottom

On the instrument panel center, they call that screen the TFT when referring to our little XEs. Your XJ may be different in the TFT screen, but in ours you will only get that Jaguar logo if you reach into the TFT menu (not any of the touchscreen menus). Use the menu buttons on the yoke of your steering wheel to find Vehicle Information menu. It sounds as if your Vehicle Info is currently set on "Trip Computer" or set to nothing. You'll need to "un-tick" that box, so none of the other selections are ticked (not Audio, not Trip Computer, nothing), and then tick the box that says "Logo".
On the XE this causes a computer-rendered Jaguar leaper logo to appear on your TFT permanently as you drive. I prefer that image on the TFT when I'm driving in the Spring through Autumn. By winter, I miss the Trip Computer Info, and want it back.

Your XJ may have a slightly different set of menus in the TFT, or it's possible that the XJ doesn't have that vanity option at all, so you may have to drill down patiently to look for it.
Our XEs don't have a Winter Mode color change at all....

on the XJ those options will only show the logo/trip computer/audio on the right 1/3rd panel of the the screen, and doesn't affect the startup. No way to make anything take over the entire screen while driving besides checking "Map" which displays the full screen navigation in front which is nice, but needs to be manually selected each time(as far as I can tell).

That's a shame!

I never thought of the leaper logo as "just for sporty cars". It radiates "elegance" just as much as sporty fun. So they should have included it fully on the TFT for the elegant XJ Jaguar too.

Tell me at least that your XJ has a British accent on the nanny's voice. Our XE Nav girl has a kind of savvy, almost mid-America tone---I'd prefer British for a British car! do

I had to go and check but my 2014 XJR does have the large leaper on the instrument panel on start up. Not sure how or why it's there either?

it seems older models have a different startup, does anyone with 2016 or newer get the leaper on both screens at startup?

If that's the case, you can select between a few options, one of them the leaper. I think there's also the growler, pretty sure one of them is the British Jack...
But you can select it from the touch screen selections on the center screen, following the menu that let's you customize the 'experience'.

I would walk you through it step-by-step, but the wife's XJ isn't close at hand right now.
And I'm sure you're able to find your way through your screen menus if you look.

Edited update - from the center console home screen, two selections can be used to select the SCREENSAVER:... one is SETTINGS and the other (more direct) is SCREENSAVER.
If you go to SETTINGS, then go on to SCREENSAVER.
From there, our screen has 4 options: NONE, LEAPER, UNION JACK, or JAGUAR LOGO.
The SCREENSAVER is also the start-up screen for the center console screen.

And this is in regards to the XJ. I don't know if it would also apply to the XE (or truthfully why XE-related discussion would be in this forum).

yes the Screensaver settings do control the startup but only for my center console screen (16 XJ), my instrument screen startup stays blank with just mileage showing at the bottom until the instrument panels come on

Sorry then, I wasn't quite clear on which screen was in question.
