Jaguar XJ State Limousine

I just happened to google "Royal Jaguar XJ Limousine" and I found photos of this monstrosity! What do you guys think?

Let's see...what do I think... gorgeous paint job, bit of identity crisis with the prancing horse hood ornament...

I've decided that I will not place an order for one, at least until those snobby British decide to Knight me! Bet it has a better ride than mine. Can't imagine the royal butts being subjected to all that harshness.

On the other hand, HRM gets to run flashing blue strobes and proceed at
pretty much any speed she wants ... with a police escort to boot. :)

Well, at least, rear headroom is not a problem, but ugly

Doesn't look any worse than a Maybach. I wonder if it has James Bond-y features like machine guns and depth charges.

I personally think the previous body style portfolio lends itself to the long body far better than the X351 platform...

But its not the XKE stretch in orange for sure.

Someone posted the video of them cutting up an XJL to make the limousine/hearse.

Here's the link if you are interested:

They must have had to beef-up the front suspension just to carry the extra weight of that hood ornament.
But I do agree with the Royal family, why ride around in a mere Rolls Royce when you can go royal class in a Jaguar?
I notice their are apparently two of them, "NGN1" and "NGN2".

I like it, but hood ornament needs to go.

The 'State Limousine' is a Bentley:

Attachment 107474

It was specially commissioned and a gift to HM Queen Elizabeth II from SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders).

It carries the Royal Standard and HM's vehicle is the only one on UK roads which is not required to display a registration plate.

Attachment 107477

The ornament is St George slaying the Dragon - the Queen's personal mascot.

The Jaguar limousine has one of a series of 12 consecutive NGN registration plates which originally belonged to the late Queen Mother. It carries a crown indicating use by a senior member of the Royal Family.

Most Bentley owners also have Jaguars available for less formal occasions.

Thanks for the clarification. The links I found seemed to suggest it was a "semi-state limo" but I have no idea what that means!

Thank you for the clarification.

I think it very kind the people of the UK do not require your Queen's vehicle to display those hideous yellow registration plates.

I should think such punishment should be reserved for child molesters and such.

So does the Queen actually ride around in this thing? Or is it for other royals?
