Massage seats - whats the deal?
So i drove a 2015 for a week then drove my 2013 XJL and the massage seats are much better in the 2015. I barely can feel the massage in 2013 ... I don't have a comparison with other 2013's.
i do realize there are more intensity levels from 2014 but i thought we should have had it at the highest intensity as a default, or is there a way to make it better? .. appreciate the inputs. |
In the 2013 there is only on or off and no adjustments.
|
sorry i should make my question clear. I understand that we don't have adjustments but the massage feels so light, any way to make it better like in the 2015's... as in increase the intensity.. as in a hack of some sort.

If I'm not mistaken, in our 'older' XJs, the massaging is accomplished by filling and releasing air bladders. I can't think of any modifications that will improve that without tearing up something. Sorry!

In my 2011 XJL I'm more inclined to feel the massage function is more mechanical rather than accomplished through the use of air bags, but have nothing to support this contention.
Regardless, the intensity of the massage seems adequate, but I've never experienced the one in a 2015, so I don't have nothing to compare it with. I will say the function is not all that smooth, and acts a little like it is stuck, and then jumps loose, which may explain why I don't use it that much. Anyhow, my lovely wife has the magic back rub touch no car seat is about to replicate. |
I thought I had seen something during my pre-purchase research. Indeed, it is air bladders.

Well, have to report that in my 2014 the massage is def mechanical and quite nice - and you can REALLY fell the rolls going on about.
