New owner 2011 XJL Portfolio
Hi all, joined the XJ owners club having always wanted one since they came out. 2011 black XJL Portfolio
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...83d577097.jpeg Just have a slight issue with the adaptive cornering light which is flickering when turned to the right only. If I knock the headlamp it seems to work fine but initially the flicker is there. Anyone had this issue and know what the likely issue may be? |
Hi Jonathan,
Sorry, I'm not able to help you on this one. But I wanted to congratulate you on your new purchase; she's a beauty! I have a 2010 (albeit less shiny) and love it. Though I'm not an expert on this, it sounds like the issue is at the cornering light itself as you are able to correct it by physically knocking it. I would suspect replacing the bulb would be a good start. But others will likely chime in with better suggestions. I'm pretty sure that you will also get a reply telling you to go to the new member welcome thread and introduce yourself. So you might want to check out the new member sticky thread to get yourself started. Glad to have you with us! |
Welcome aboard, sir!
I have (had?) a similar flicker from my passenger side "see round corners" light, but after a while it appears to have fixed itself, so no helpful tips from me I'm afraid. |
No probs guys thanks for responding.

Nice car Jonathan, mine is same year and model, albeit black interior. Lovely cars, enjoying mine. |
That gorgeous car sitting there just look like it has evil intentions. And I know from experience . . . they do. You're going to love it.

Nice car Jonathan, black with chrome is so Jaguar, so gangster:icon_pirate: |
Thanks all
Great car so far. Like driving a large house around only very quickly Light still flickering which is really annoying me. Like a bloody strobe light. I take it there is no option to turn off corner lighting? |
I've never heard of that happening on a LHD XJ. :icon_patriot:
Brexit related, perhaps? :icon_biggrin: Seriously, if you can stop the flickering by hitting the headlamp, it seems that there's an intermittent connection. With the lights on and engine off, open the bonnet and wiggle the headlight wires around and see if you can make it flicker. If you can, troubleshoot the wire that caused the flicker - make sure that the ground connector is tight and all the other plugs and connectors are tight and no wiring is damaged . Good luck! |
How does one force the "see round corners" light to stay on? Park with the wheels turned and the indicator on, maybe?

Looks awesome :) add some pictures from inside..
