Rear Seatbelt Buckle Hiding?

So I loaded the children into the car on Saturday and there was a bit of a commotion because they couldn't locate one of the seatbelt buckles. I thought they were being their usual incompetent unhelpful selves, but to be fair to them, the buckle was actually missing!

The car's been in and out of the dealer recently for some repair work following it being stolen. I'm suspecting that the seat bench has been removed, and not replaced properly, trapping the buckle for the seat underneath the bench.

I've had as much of a root around in & around the area as I dare, but haven't been able to pop the buckle out again. Does anyone know whether removing the seat bench is a user-achievable task? And if so, do they have any pointers as to how to do it?

I don't mind taking it back to the dealer if I have to, but I'd rather not look totally incompetent! It's essential that I recover the buckle, since we are a family of 5, and not being able to use the car when it's all 5 of us would be ridiculous.

Thank you for those uploads.

After speaking to the service manager in the local dealer today, I got the feeling that I might not be being brave enough, so I set about the seat again this evening when I got home from work.

I was able to get the buckle out. It was lying flat directly underneath the outer-rear seat cushion. I was able to pull the seat cushion far enough out of the way that with the aid of a screwdriver I could pull the buckle out.

All fixed now!

Thanks again for the help though.

Good to hear, it did look like a pain to r and r the seat.

A great example of the value of the Jaguar Forum. People helping one another an ocean apart in different countries in the space of one day. How great is that!
