Default Seat Piping on XJ R-Sport

I am comparing offers and ready to choose an XJ R-Sport, either a new 2018 or 2019. Has anyone encountered excessive wear on the seat piping? A noticed some had problems after googling Jag seat piping - it took me to another Jaguar forum with some Brits complaining about the issue. I'm wondering if has been resolved or isolated to their neck of the woods.

Just curious why buy new vs used considering the rapid depreciation of these cars?

Also, selling my 2014 XJR if you want to save a grip of $.

That is one fine car you have. To answer your question, I looked nationally for a CPO. I wanted to maximize the warranty and limited my search to 2017-2018 XJ's. I found one that was perfect for me, good price, looked at flights, and then was emailed a $2645 certification fee added to the price that was never discussed or disclosed on he dealers website. That was the one I wanted. I caught the dealer on one other misstep when we began, so the pricing surprise was the last straw. Now I find one dealer out of six in my area that is dealing on 2019's. He is starting with $12,000 off (about 15%) and we haven't even spoken yet. I'm meeting today. There is another dealer a 75 minute flight from me that has close to 25% off off a new 2018. Right exterior color, wrong interior. That has my attention. The warranty and maintenance Jaguar offers is pretty appealing. So for me, at the right price, new is the way to go. These are beautiful cars.

A critical item is the in service date of the XJ as that is when the warranty clock begins. So ask the dealer if there is an in service date for the car. Many dealers will "register" their cars before selling to help them on their Jaguar franchise and allotments.

I don’t know how different the new seat piping is, but the piping on my 2010 looks like new. No complaints.

thank you all. I am no longer concerned about the seat piping. This issue was likely isolated to some Brits who complained about it. I read it when google took me to another forum.
