Default Is there a new XJ coming in the next couple of years?

I'm about to buy a new XJ late this month. Yesterday I heard from a friend that a new Jaguar XJ model may due by the end of the year or early next year. Does anyone else know anything about this?

Any advise welcome.

I saw a picture of what was said to possibly be the 2017 XJ. The style was basically the same but front and rear looked to be sleeker and the rear deck and tail lights were totally redesigned and to me were very appealing.
I too am toying with possibly trading for a 2016 but will hold off to see if a redesigned 2017 is in the workings. I purchased my 2014 July 2015, If I had known about the changes to the 2016 which hit the dealers lot several months later, I would have waited and purchased a 2016.

Good Luck

A report in Autocar magazine saying is actually dated 2014 so I think it refers to the new model refresh released earlier this year, which what I'm getting. A later article in the same magazine dated 23 April 2016 says and this sounds plausible. If the next new model is only due in 2019, I'm OK with going ahead with my purchase.

I went to that sight and the picture of that car although I cannot see the rear, looks much like what I was describing that I thought would be released in 2017.
In that I would not want to wait passed 2017 to trade and if we are talking no signifiacnt body change just more gadgets on the 2017, I too will probably go with the 2016.
I believe you will like the 2016 XJ. I will be looking forward to hearing your review on your new car.

The main changes from my present XJ are likely to be:
- Slightly more power with the tweaked diesel
- 8 auto gears rather than 6
- a better infotainment interface (hopefully much better!)

It will probably be delivered early July. I will post something when it is.

Remote Start and Meredian Surrond Sound, which I wish I had, are now standard features on the 2016.

True, forgot about that. I had to realized about the remote start. My present XJ has an excellent B&W audio. If the 825W Meridien is better than that it will be great. I didn't go for the sliding and massaging rear seat because I almost never sit in the back!
