Default Tyre System Monitor Fault

Message started today. Checked tire pressure and its more or less normal and the same all around.

Any ideas?

Obviously I'll take it in to be checked but wondered if there was a simple reset for this.

Take it in, the dealer will probably need to change some sensors, hopefully they'll have it in stock or have it nearby so they don't have to ship from England like they did for me. My SS was at dealer for nearly 2 weeks getting the roof and tire pressure sensor parts shipped over from England, and supposely I have one of the newest roof fixing method in all of North America. It did seems to do the trick, drove it for 300 miles yesterday and didn't hear it once. The XJ base model loaner they gave me rattled like a freaking popcorn over everything on the road and it only had 2700 miles on it.

Do you have any details on this newest greatest roof fix?? I'm going to need to take mine in shortly. Fortunately mine is only knocking when I go over inclines at an angle and that's only when I go over them aggressively.

I did wonder about the excessive heat causing it and hoped for a self fix.

Sorry about your rattles Jff.

Mine did the same thing Friday 8/5/2011 and corrected itself today Sunday 8/7/2011. I will make anyone a great buy on this 2011 Supercharged xjl only 2500 miles on it.

Mine self corrected today. No big deal. It would be nice if the system actually showed temp and pressure like aftermarket systems.

On another note I found the current incarnation of the tire balancing pressure gauge I used to love - PsiClops 180. About $20 on Amazon.

Mine did the same thing. Seem to start and be sporadic when the weather got warmer er hot. Then was a daily thing. Took it in and the dealer had to replace all of the tire sensors.

I don't have the exact reference or the detail but supposely they had to shave a little part of the roof/sunroof structure to get it to not rattle, and maybe some cushion? My dealer is Jake Kaplan in Norwood so maybe your dealer can call them and ask them exactly what's the new fix if they don't know about it.

Clearly it is the English way to hide info from the driver and use service lights. It used to be the American way as well but now most American cars give hard data whenever possible. I think it is a matter of philosophy.
