The past 5 years, I drove a 2012, black on black with grey liner. It must have had a lot of 2011 DNA because I had a TON of problems over the years. Once I went over 100,000 I sold it.

i just picked up a new 2018 in Ft Worth at Autobahn (thanks Jerry Reynolds for the hook up!) and drove it back home to Houston this afternoon. This one is white with black interior and headliner.

Here some initial impressions from my drive.

1. Engine and exhaust are not as loud and growling as my 2012. Didn’t bother me too much but I liked the 2012 a bit better.

2. Road noise might be a bit better, but could be age too. Anyone dampen trunk noise with trunk liners?

3. Display and Infotainment - HUGE improvement from what I had, much cleaner and modern. Noticed some lags, but overall it just felt so much better. Not world class by any stretch but from the 2012, a relief. Sound not as good as my Bowers and Wilkins, but nice. LOVE having the map take over the driver display for nav on a long trip, very cool. Cameras and 360 were nice touches too. Cameras are WAY better!

4. Interior touches - LOVE the diamond stitch and auto shades in the rear. Glad to be done with the tray backs. Haven’t decided if I like the dark liner better yet, but a nice cockpit feel to it. Also now have burl wood va piano black, much nicer IMO. Everything else was better.

5. Drivers assistance - will take getting used to and doubt I will use lane assist everyday. Couldn’t feel the vibration mode, but the autocorrect was noticeable and took away from the experience. Wish it had auto brake and adaptive cruise, but oh well.

6. Exterior - love the auto lose doors, a few changes here and there (door handles, add chrome, blacked out bits, etc are nice adds)

Overall, it drives and feels like my 2018 and looks the same in most ways - all of which are good things IMO. It still looks as good or better as anything else in that showroom. I added 100k miles warranty this time just in case, but really looking forward to the next few years with it. As I notice anything else, I’ll post it as we go.

Very nice, how about some interior pictures. What audio system did you get as I have the Meridian Surround and think its awesome, but took some time for the speakers to wear in and give their best sound and also turned down the treble a bit as was to bright for me. IMHO

First issue today at 1016 miles.

e-diff not available
driving dynamics unavailable
no sport mode.
Annoying beep every 30 seconds that can’t be turned off.

sat in garage for 20 mins, turned on and the warnings went away
