96 xj12 engine hesitates
Hello , anyone know why the v12 which was running great suddenly started to hesitate and lurch ,seconds after I got engine light and transmission light along with abs and traction control lights ,I took it to the shop however they can’t get to it for 2 weeks. |

Were you able to read engine codes, if any? Sounds like something failed suddenly. Perhaps an ignition coil pack or a MAP sensor. Those failures should set a code. Also, gasoline contaminated with water will cause symptoms like that in any engine. In my experience, the X305 XJ12 air, fuel and ignition systems are quite reliable. There are two fuel pumps, and the car will still run normally if either one of them fails, except when fuel demand is high. Yes, it's a Jaguar V12 so fuel demand is always high, but I mean when your foot is deep in the throttle. :D I saw you had trouble with your battery too. A correct and healthy battery is absolutely essential, so that must be settled first. Hope to hear from you. Ok please do, Don't be surprised if they come up with a long list of needs, some needs more important than others. And be aware that they might not even have a V12 technician anymore. Maybe there's an old timer still around? Hopefully they can come up with a sensible solution without quoting you a fortune. Most of the work on the V12 can be accomplished by the home mechanic, following the factory service manuals. But don't mention that! Good luck.

The common item in the 4 lights is the left rear speed sensor , it is also your speedometer on the X300 series
