Default Throttle linkage bushings

Hey folks, thought I’d pop over here and share a throttle linkage fix that I just completed. Normally I’m on the XJ6/12 forum where I’m swapping in a 1995 6 liter V12 into my 1974 XJ12.

as part of that swap I discovered the bushings were gone from the linkage on throttle bottle /intake.

I bought this set of bushings off Amazon, 8 mm ID and 12 mm OD. The ID is perfect, the OD is about .5 mm too small and so it isn’t a press fit into the bracket. It probably doesn’t matter if that bushing spun in the bracket but I happened to have a couple of snap rings that just fit to retain the bushing.

Installed. There are a couple of copper washers there that I added to match the spacing on a stock spacer that was in there but I’m not sure that’s really necessary now that I see how it’s installed.

Looks like a good alternative to EF050806 which are 0.5" (12.7mm) OD. The hole in the bracket must be 12.5mm, because the half-inch bushings needed to be abraded down to press fit.

I wish I'd found your suggestion first! A press fit would've made me feel better.

Thanks Andy. Those small bushings can cause big problems for the engine. Very kind of you to think of us over here! Your build thread is very interesting and ambitious. I have followed it and am impressed by your ability to find solutions all along the way. Best wishes.
