2004 Jaguar XJR problems
 

I just recently bought a 2004 Jaguar XJR in excellent condition. When I bought it, there is a message saying that the trunk is open but it's not. The guy I bought it from said it was a sensor issue. I drive it for a few days and filled it with gas and the next morning, my fuel gauge didn't work but worked the next time I started it. It also has new errors come up now- 1. Air suspension default. 2. Check engine light is on but it drives fine. 3. Outer headlights stopped coming on. 4. Horn stopped working. Any ideas from anyone if you think it's all related somehow? Maybe electrical problem?

You may have a grounding fault.
Need to inspect all the car's grounding points. Refer tp the workshop manual to determinr locations.
Brfore buying any car, check for any DTCs with OBD II reader.

Check battery connections first...If OK have battery tested...These cars do funny things with a bad/dying battery...You can also check the grounding studs on the cowl behind the headlights...They get corroded and can cause problems too...

As viper said, the grounding studs on the cowl behind the headlight. They are a common problem, will cause all of the issues you describe. It's not enough to just look at them. They corrode from the inside and often just snap off when you loosen the wire nut. You're almost better off drilling a new hole and stud.
Any local auto parts store will test your battery free of charge.

Agree with both suggestions above - battery test or replace and then check grounding points behind headlights. Hopefully will solve your issues.
