The computer system of this car is so strange. Almost like it needs to learn trust in itself before it can forgive codes and let them go. My scanner now can get into the system to read the basic P codes and erase them. Engine codes were right and left bank too lean. First time I erased them they stayed off for the 15 min drive home. Then the CEL reappeared each time on start up. On the 5th start up of so no codes at all. I started to do a happy dance in my seat. After a min or so the CEL came back on while driving but the cruise not available message was gone. So after a few min I hit the + on the steering wheel and it worked. A minute later driver override message came on and it was over.... I should pull over shut off the car and erase the code again.
So I pull over shut down the engine and erase the codes and the CEL is gone for the ride home plus I used the cruise control for over a mile. I get home shut off the car and restart with a clear screen on the dash. The cruise control is adaptive and will take over if you are too close to other vehicles or approaching slower traffic. But having it work for a brief minute is hope for it hasn't done this in over a year.
Today is a new day... Lets see if this kitty is learning to behave a little better....
