2004 XJR - timing chain cover parts
I have a healthy oil leak and have been blaming the oil pan but it ended up being the timing cover. Oil is oozing from the bottom.
I checked the JEPC and figured I need three parts:
- Upper timing cover gasket (#2 on the diagram, AJ83699)
- Lower timing cover gasket (#3 on the diagram, AJ83700)
- Crankshaft oil seal (#5 on the diagram, AJ83698)
There is another part (#4 on the diagram, AJ83701) that JEPC calls it: pulley bearing - timing cover.
I have studied the manual and this is a big job. Of course, I have never done it before. Does anyone know what exactly the part numbered #4 is exactly and should I bother replacing it? It is the cheapest but hopefully its not something that would give me headaches replacing it....
Thanx!
