06 Jag XJ8, 132k miles. I plugged a device into the rear of the center console's power outlets which drew too much current. First the right socket went dead.
Then I did the same dumb thing o the left socket.
Now neither plug sources any power. Everything else works perfectly in the car but these rear outlets.
Any idea here the fuses are located?
Or, does it have fusible links somewhere?
I really hope I didn't cook a wire inside that center console. Any help is appreciated.

Hello bobsalmon,
I have the same issue on my 2004 xj8, so I have been looking in my owner's manual to find out the location of the fuse in that line. I just haven't fixed it yet. These cars have three fuse boxes. One under the hood, one in the cabin, and one in the trunk behind the battery. The fuse in question is in the trunk fuse box. It is fuse #F26, 15 amps.
I guess I had better go ahead and replace it to see if that fixes the problem. I don't use that outlet, so I hadn't bothered.
Incidentally, these cars came from the factory with spare fuses! Of course, if you bought yours used as I did, it might not be there any longer. Look at the bottom of the trunk/boot lid closure where the lower portion of the lock mechanism is. On the inside just above the floor there are two compartments, one on each side. On my 2004 the one to the driver's side contains fuses and an extraction tool. Check it out.
Hope this helps.
