Default Another dumb question

I was checking my XJ8 to get it ready for state inspection when I noticed that the front two amber lights in the side of the bumper next to the chrome strip were not comming on. Shouldn't they be on with the head lamps or running lights? Does the light fixture just pry out of the bumper without rmoving any type of fastener?

Are those actually lights ? On my admittedly UK-spec car they are reflectors.

There is a spring clip at the square end (I think) which you have to squeeze

to remove the amber cover. Be careful the cover is delicate.

The wiring diagram shows bulbs and wiring to front and rear side markers (NAS) only.

Fuse is f25 cabin fuse box

Default Lights

Check for corrosion on the bulb terminals, water collects at that point. To remove, pry the top section out first, being carefull of paint damage.
I had to replace 3 of my park/marker lights due to corrosion damage.

Fraser I was wondering the same thing because both front don't light and F25 fuse is good and the other fuctions that fuse protects works. The manual shows there are bulbs but I can't get the fixture out of the bumper. I stopped because I felt it was going to break. reyes, what is the best way to pry it out?

Default Hold-on

I will add a few photos of removal..... should be about an hour (cell phone camera / cropping / resizing / uploading......

While I wait for the photos to get to my email for editing......

Push on the front edge of the Marker assy, (you need to push the assy to the rear for the front plastic clip to clear the bumper).
Pull out on the front of the marker.
Pull forward to clear the rear metal spring clip.
Remove the metal clip that holds the wiring socket to the bulb socket.
Disconnect sockets.
Replace bulb. (2825)
Install in reverse order.

(This is the same unit that is on the X-Type)
