Arnott Coil Conversion Comparison ?
 
So I am looking to get a coil spring conversion kit for my X358 and Arnott has both their own version (C-2745) and Eibach versions (C-3270). I received this from Arnott asking for the differences but was unable to get a clear answer..."Arnott's elite coil spring kit, C-2745 is valved to Ride Like the original Air Suspension. The spring kit C-3270 is a premium/ high performance Eibach with shock absorbers custom-valved for Arnott. It provided the vehicle with the comfort and handling Jaguar owners expect. They both are patented with the Electronic Bypass Module to turn off dashboard warning light."

Anyone have the Eibach version and can compare it to the standard version? Which has better handling and ride?

Arnott's premium Jaguar suspension conversion kit C-3270 for the 2004-2009 Jaguar XJ Series (X350 & X358 Chassis) is built with Eibach front and rear monotube dampers custom-tuned by Arnott and retails for about $250 more than Arnott's C-2745 kit. The Eibach dampers are able to be more precisely tuned to ride like the OE although there is obviously no air suspension after the conversion. Arnott's C-3270 design also features steel springs made by Eibach in Germany. Both delete kits include Arnott patented (U.S. Pat. No. 9,329,917) Electronic Bypass Module (EBM) to disarm the ECATS system and eliminate dash panel error messages.

Doug, can C-3270 set be disassembled? Meaning could the coil springs be removed/replaced if desired? I see the C-2745 is marked do not disassemble, but I can't tell if the "A" engraved cover in the top hat of the 3270s is removable to access a nut, or if that area is solid.

Sorry, C-3270 can not be disassembled.

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone any comment on the difference between these 2 kits.
I doubt that anyone has tried both. Most people do it once.

I can't find it now, but somewhere on this board a guy reported he was told by Arnott that the 2745 was made to emulate the comfort suspension and the 3270 was made to emulate the sport suspension. none of Arnott's literature says that, but this guy reported being told that over the phone.

Whatever hearsay is worth...

I just drove in an x350 with a coil conversion done by a reputable indy shop two days ago. I honestly couldnt believe how nice the car drove. I passed on purchasing the car because of the conversion however it truly surprised me. The owner didnt know what they put in

Rob ; I put them on my 05 VDP 3yrs ago. Probably rides a little high and a little stiffer than the air ride. No problems. Why spend more on Arnots when these are only 5K cars. Purchased them right after buying the car as I knew of the air suspension problems and expenses, Didn't drive much with air ride so can't comment on ride change altough I,m quite happy as is. Also I'm not road racing so don't need the self lowering feature. Yes they are Chinese.

I retrofitted the Arnott coilover conversion a couple of years ago
- Good quality
- Siffer than even OE XJR air suspension (small bumps, etc not absorbed particularly well)
- Ride quality is OK, but not in the same league as contemporary German sedans, and a little less refined than OE jag X356 air suspension

Its a good solution for ~ $1,200, IIRC. I absolutely do not recommend "rebuilt" air shocks. Buy the (comfort only) Bilsteins (~ $3,200?) if you want to retrain air ride
