Intending to top-up the screen wash reservoir today, I pulled the latch for the bonnet (hood), only for the thing to give way and the bonnet stay firmly shut, what a damned nuisance !
The latch has been stiff to open since I have had the car, and I lift the bonnet quite a lot as I am always checking oil, and topping up the screen wash.

I shall be booking into the main agent next week, it needs a service anyway. Is anybody aware of a weakness with the latch cable mechanism ? Why do these things have to happen !

 

I haven't heard of this as a common problem with Jags, but it can happen to any car.
