Default can't get air tubes off of air suspension compressor

I am trying to install a new compressor I bought from Arnott. They have a video that walks you through the R&R. It shows the guy easily removing air tubes by hand at around 3 minutes and 8 seconds into the video.

I am pulling hard on mine with pliers and am afraid I will break it. Am I fighting a vacuum? Is there an air release valve somewhere.

Why can't I get these off?

Any help is appreciated.

Biff

If I am watching correctly I think the mechanic is pressing in on the ring at base of connection before pulling the tube out?

Possibly wrong on that. That ring at the base of the tubing is some kind of grip/holder that sits around a raised ring on the tubing.

If it does not push in it might be that you have to pull it outward about 1/16" to 1/8" without breaking it and then pull the tube out.

I am guessing so hopefully some one knows precisely what needs to be done.

I wish I could remember to help. I only remember it being a simple process without much fight, but it's been more than a year since I removed my compressor.

Hi you need to push the pipe into the connector then push the white collar in then pull the pipe out whilst holding the collar it will be hard to pull out if air pressure is still in pipe

Hi Biff,

I used a flat-bladed screwdriver to depress the white collar ring, which releases the black plastic pipe. See the top two photos below. You may need to push the pipe in slightly for it to fully release.

Cheers,

Don

That was the problem. You need to keep the sleeve or collar pressed down while you pull up on the hose. Thank you for your responses.
