Sorry jsupstarz, I didn't manage to get the head unit apart this weekend.

It was just under 38C here in Sydney today and i'd extimate into the 50's in the hangar where my car is still pulled apart. After about 10mins we just went over the road to the pub

I'll get that info to you next weekend. I'm really missing my XJR on the road

Cheers

Here are some pics of inside the head unit

head unit Photos by 34by151 | Photobucket

I have included a pic of the video board
You will notice the 2 adjustments

Just a guess but on of them will be the one you need
I'm working on getting the service manual so I can confirm that for you

I looking for the data sheet on the lcd display so I can connect the module in the pic
This will do the touch intercept for my Nav upgrade

Cheers

Found 2 Suppliers for replacement LCD screens both under 200 bucks

Te LCD is a Toshiba TFD70W20. I've had it apart so many times now its a bout a 5min job to swap out.

On a side note the LCD has no touch control. Touch control is done by the outer bezel (the one that has the switches) It is a ring of IR led's the go around the glass. Probably one of the best systems around but have never seen this in a car before.

Good new for my project is Its an easy mod for the new nav touch control, but I still need a way of turning off the IR.

Cheers
