Correct jack points?
Wanted to replace the diff. fluid. What are the correct jack points? - I know about the ones after the front wheels and before the rear wheels, but are there any other recommended jack points that could be used? The manual does not talk about others than the ones on the door sill.

Isn't the differential "sealed for life" with synthetic fluid?

Thanks!! donch61.
Correct sealed for life just like the transmission - it will me a short life;) |
I replaced the diff fluid in mine. It needed it! Search on "Differential (Rear Axle) fluid change" with my ID and you will find my procedure/tools on the change. Its simple with the right tools.

Thanks donch61. I read your tread some time back - very helpful - I appreciate it - I would have been very puzzled about actually using the ratchet without a key if I had not seen you tread. I needed a tiny hose on a 100ml syringe for the bottom of the diff - i had a tiny plastic pipe at the end so I thoroughly could vacuum the bottom of the diff - it was thick and black the crap that came up from down there - Wow (I guess you dont notice it the same way when you have a drain plug). I had a little shavings on the magnetic plug - but no concern. I was able to get approx. the full volume (1.38Qts) into it again so I most have gotten most out - no wonder :icon_teeth: I got a little obsessed.
