Damaged transmission?

My 2003 SUPER V8 (4,2 compressor 400hp) with 170.000 klm on the clock , when in cold engine in the morning, the car goes with hesitations meaning , in D (or any other gear) the revs go up and down 100 rotations and accelarates and decalarates until the engine gets warm.
Oil transmission fluid changes, reprogramed transmission ...and still the same!
No odd sounds ;just that constant hesitation on the speed ....
New airflow meter didnīt made any diference.
Any clue or advice?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Selmer

As Microsoft would say, it's not a bug it's a feature ! This "hunting" syndrome is present on my car and has been since I bought the car in 2010 with 30k miles on it; the car now has 92k miles. I too have attempted to cure it to no avail, and just accept that some idiot in Jaguar programmed the TCM incorrectly, and nobody was prepared to fix the problem later on. People have said a change of torque converter cures the problem. If that is so, why do the symptoms only occur whilst the transmission fluid is warming-up. Until somebody in either Jaguar or ZF tells me why and how the symptom occurs, I'm leaving my money in the bank. Now I just accept it as a feature of the car and wonder why car manufacturers cannot fix simple faults like these. I do suspect, however, Ford bureaucracy has something to do with it.

You could invest in a mongoose and reflash the trans again as it is possible it was not done.

Purchasing a mongoose is money well spent anyway.

Another option is to warm the car up before driving off in the morning avoiding the issue and finally live with it and save your money as Fraser suggests

Cheers
