ok, has anyone thought about, fitted or even tried fitting some 'sports' seats to the front of our cars. As always I appreciate this isn't to everyone's liking, but perhaps for the enthusiastic drivers out there something with more lateral support would be useful. They also wouldnt necessarily look out of place, the RS Audi's all have similar Recaro seats in them.

I ask because there has been several sets of these listed on ebay recently..

A side effect would also be a considerable weight saving.

Personally, I don't think those seats would "fit" on a XJ8. The look of the car wouldn't seem right.....but that is only one mans opinion.

 

I suspect the seat mounts for the XK are substantially different from the XJ, but it might be worth asking the seller to measure the bolt pattern for you. And if you like the seats and don't mind the potential decrease in resale value (or increase, if you find a like-minded buyer), then, why not go for it!
