Bought this 07 V P late last year, in pretty nice shape. Missed one issue, found it when the car was getting fuel for the first time. The door would not latch when closed After looking at my 04 XJ8's lid saw neither one had any obvious latch on the end of it. Had thought that it had to have had a piece sticking out, that must have been broken off, that went into a latch of some sort. There is a latch unit that is sold by the dealer, but has anyone had the same issue with an alternate solution?

 

Looks like my latch problem may be handled,(sure hope so) found a used latch mechanism for $14.00+$7.00 shipping. Gotta love that Flea Bay stuff, usually have had pretty good results from purchases made there.
