Default Goodbye at 251k and hello at 87k

A while ago my 04 VDP developed a head gasket issue and now finally had to be retired at 251,000 miles. Garage mechanic bought her for cheap as a project. I was hoping to make it to 350k, but she gave a lot of great service and joy over her lifetime.

Love the care so much I found another 04 VDP with only 87,000 miles. In better shape than the first one and running like a charm. See below!

You've done extremely well with your car. Did you have to do any significant repair work during your ownership ?

Congrats! I have an 04 VDP as well and love it. Only year for the short wheelbase VDP. All the luxury with ample rear seat leg room and easier to park. No snack trays though

I had her for nearly five years and more than 100k miles. Besides typical maintenance things such as brakes and transmission fluid change, I converted to steel coil overs when the air struts wouldn't hold air one very, very cold winter. I think because of the head gasket leak and coolant going where it shouldn't causing emissions issues, I twice replaced fuel injectors, catalytic converter, and O2 sensors. I also replaced the bushings in a couple of the control arms. I did most of the work myself, as a hobby, so it was fun to solve the issues as they came up.
