Instructions for replacing front stabilizer (sway bar) bushings?
 

I know I've seen that a few members have replaced theirs and that it's a bear of a job, but I haven't seen any specifics.

My understanding is:
- jack the car up and put on stands both sides so that front is off the suspension and level
- remove both tires
- remove the sway bar end links
- remove the air cleaner and other plastic bits leading up to the S/C (XJR)
- remove the overflow tank (someone said they didn't have to do this?)
- remove the bolts holding down the stabilizer bushings
- replace the bushings
- reassembly is the reverse of disassembly

Any special tools required?
Is it true I can possibly get away without draining the coolant system? Do you need a special wrench if you DON'T remove the fluid reservoir?

I just replaced mine but I did it while the Radiator was out. There is a frame brace above the sway bar that must be loosened to be able to lift the sway bar brackets off. I was able to do everything from the top, but most of this was easy cause my radiator was out. I didn't have to remove the sway bar end links but might help a little in your case. There will be a lot of crap in the way with your radiator and fan in the way. It kind of depends on what tools you have. It you can get the right combination of tools then you may not need to remove as many things, but it you have a limited combination of tools than you may need to remove more things to get access to the bushings. May not be a bad idea to remove the radiator anyways and inspect it and clean the vanes so that your supercharged motor will be more efficient.
