Default Jaguar Audio Connectivity Module (ACM)

Hi all,
I know this has been discussed before but can't find any current information. Does anyone know where I can get one of these for my car?

Thanks

Hi

Does it have to be an ACM? What features are you looking for?

If Bluetooth is an option you could try Venn box. https://plus.google.com/+IquryUsJaguar
Great piece of kit.

Hi again everyone,
I've found a second hand ACM for £255 shipped (pricey but I'd quite like it) and have two questions:

1) I'm guessing I need to ensure it's the most up to date firmware/software which I believe is part number C2C40513. I want to get the seller to check this, is the part number located somewhere on the box module?

2) Where would you recommend installing it? I'm torn between the glove compartment and under the arm rest where my in car phone is. The glove box does at least have a 12v socket...

Thanks!

Default ACM

I recently purchased the ACM(Audio Connectivity devise) for my 2007 XK on ebay for $270. I had my audio guy install it for $85(In retrospect I could easily have done it myself). I had to have my Jag mechanic hook it up to his computer program and activate the AUX function. Took him about 45-60 minutes. Cost me $90. The dealer wanted $177. Just had to get an RCA to 3.5mm adaptor, $6-$8 at Fry's.
Works great and the sound is awesome. Now I can listen to music from my iphone and when a call comes in or I make a call, the bluetooth kicks in and when call is terminated, the music resumes.

Hi guys,
So I purchased and installed my ACM. It was the C2C40107 version (the one before the final C2C40513) and it works great. Found one brand new for 190€! I really want to upgrade to the latest Dension Gateway 500 V2.1 firmware that gives me the full functionality from the iPod but all the links on this website that I've found are broken and have been removed by Dension.

I believe the above update is the one I'm looking for as opposed to the official ACM update which was 1.09 but didn't give iPod functionality.

Please could someone send me the file for the V2.1, I'd be much obliged!

Dan

Let me see if I still have a copy of it, will be on an old laptop, I'll try to dig it out next week and check...

Thanks, Cambo, whenever you can! Thanks for replying so quickly. If I find the file in a quiet, darkened corner of the net in the meantime I'll let you know!

Actually I think I've found it. Can someone confirm this is the correct file for gaining full iPod access from the iPod itself?

http://www.dension.com/files/gateway...2b-fw_2.10.zip

If you can't view just select th gateway 500 from th drop down box at the bottom and you'll see it

Thanks

Default audio module

Kinda wondering if for that amount of money....maybe I could just buy a really nice Alpine or Bose system and have a mechanic splice the speaker wires to it? Of course...not a lot of room to mount it anywhere. Hey...finally a usefulness for the back seat!!!!

Doesn't the '07 plate come with auxiliary inputs though as you mentioned? The reason I bought the acm was because there are no aux options for my car unless you hardware them in. Found quite a bargain having only to pay £160 for my new acm and fitted it myself. Excellent sound quality as it hooks up to the car's optical network as I'm sure you've read here.

Not sure whether the solution with wiring directly to speakers would work, might be messy.

Good luck!

So now I've got my ACM i was wondering if anyone had any experience switching the supplied Mini DIN to iPod cable for a Mini DIN to Lightning cable? Are the cables plug and play or do they require a software update?
Thanks

Is the 2.1 firmware from Dension's website listed above the correct one? Finally got the dealer to install my ACM but didn't realize it just played tracks and locked the ipod. I want to update but don't want to trash my unit with the wrong one!

Yes it's the correct one. Just make sure you follow the installation instructions. I managed to do it myself with no problem

Worked like a charm. There were quite a few vital bug fixes. I noticed one which I had already experienced: no radio sometimes on startup.

The ACM is pretty terrible without that software, IMO.
