Which Looks Better? X350 or X358?
When I was shopping for my XJ it was between a 2007 XJ (X350)and a 2008 XJL (X358). After staring at pictures of both cars for an hour straight, the 08 X358 won me over on styling alone(well...those ventilated seats helped)
I think that the X358 has a presence that I simply love and had been looking and longing for in a car. The X350 has that classic feline Jaguar look, but the X358 took that and added to it.

I think that once you get away from "what do other people think", you'll end up with just what YOU like and will be much happier.
People who tell you what they like are really saying "if it was my money". YOU and you alone are the person spending the bucks, so buy what YOU like. You'll end up much happier.
Cheers

I agree with chuck. It only matters what you think.
Personally though... I like the front and rear bumpers on the X358 better, but like the X350 Grille(mesh style), leaper hood ornament, and fenders better. If I could find the front and rear X358 bumpers for my X350(with all the goodies), I would be in heaven!

My "Two Cents" on the car pictures. I believe your looking at two different models. The 350, with beautiful wheels, is an (L) model, while the 358 looks like a standard XJ8 with wheels I wouldn't put on my lawnmower, but that's just me.
Between the two, there is no comparison between the L and a standard. The L puts the word LUXURY where the name JAGUAR just shins.
Cheers

Exactly the debate I was having when I bought mine. Try to look at both in person. I'm a fan of the X350 because it retains the classic slender XJ people have come to associate with Jaguar over the last 40+ years. To my eye, the X358 looked too tricked out, puffy, and the side fenders broke up the long lines. No offense to the many X358 owners - it's clearly a matter of personal opinion and a good problem to have., It's a matter of which one calls out to you.

First... I love the aggressive 358, even the goofy fender vents but I am old school and love the more subtle 350 lines and the chrome. Previous owner of mine added the B pillar chrome and mirror covers so I think it all works well. Doesn't mean I wouldn't buy a 358 if I could get a good deal. Who says you cant have a barn of jags, LOL.
On to the quote. Tuesday (yes I remember) I was sitting in traffic and to the left of me where 4 white vehicles (its AZ we have a lot of white here). BMW 7 series, Hyundai Genesis, Honda Accord, Lexus 350 ?? They were all to the left front of me in 2 other lanes. While looking at them I realized they all look so close to the same that if your not a "car guy" you would have no clue which was what. I mean a 75K BMW looked the same as a 20K Accord. Mind you once you really start to look you see the differences but the tail lights are all so similar. The 350,358....... and especially 351's cannot be confused with ANY other car and what makes Jaguar unique.
If the next Jag purchase isn't a used XK convert it will absolutely be a 351 because there is nothing like those waterfall tail lights

how fun! yes, opinions on beauty are...well, we might as well be picking beautiful women
I'm more into the 350 myself, 351 looks like they tried a little too much...but then different colors can make a difference too.
As for the 358, it doesn't do a thing for me. Ok, the back end does look good, but the front end leaves me cold. No love.

The 350 is the better looking to me also; seems cleaner in the front than the 358. Still learning about our 350 and we like all the bells and whistles, but for looks and relative simplicity I hark back to the style of the Series IIIs of the 80s. I know that was not the question, but the 350 is closer to the series IIIs in my book.
