Hello all,

I recently inherited a 2004 XJ VDP due to my mother in law moving back to France. The car is in great condition as far as I can tell due to being driven only 6 months of the year for most of it's life. Currently sits at 95k miles but looks and feels younger. The only issue I can find is an occasional mildly more robust than should be normal engagement into drive and a similarly occasional 1-2 shift being felt. Nothing terribly worrying - the 1-2 shift could just be the difference is driving styles between ML and myself not yet having been fully assimilated by the car.

Non the less with a trans that has never seen service it seems prudent to at least swap out the fluids. Hence I'd like recommendations for shops in the LA metroplex area that are amenable to doing such work. I'm out slightly (or waaaaayyyy depending on your point of view) east in Glendora.

I thought I'd found a good local indy shop but was given the whole run around about the transmission being created as a perfect whole by God and how mortal man shall not know the interior secrets..... and even if he should peer into the mystical void the transmission fluid alone would cost $800 to refill..... so just drive it, yo, and swing by with your $3600 for a replacement when it blows.

I don't currently don't have the time or space to do any work myself so I'm in need of a recommendation - does anyone know of a shop in LA that isn't quite in La-La land as far as basic maintenance goes?
