master window switch
 

I don't post too much because most of my questions are forums. But this has me stumped. Here is my issue. I have a xj8 2004, When I use the master switch for the right rear window it will go down then when I use the switch to bring the window back up the windows goes down. I can use the rear door switch and it works fine. I did replace the switch and still has the same issue. I did do a search of the forums and did not see any answers for this problem. any help would be great.

Hi there, I had a similar problem with my 2007 xj8 last year, only it was the front passenger window behaving the same way, I also replaced the switch pack but had the same problem, anyhow by accident I found the cure, open the driver door and gently pull the wiring harness then press the length of the harness, sounds like witchcraft but I have not had the problem return,I can only think there is a break in the wire and this getle movement makes a connection,, just wait and see I have probably gave it the kiss of death,, hope not,, good luck,,,,

I thought it was a short but I thought maybe there was a programing issue. But I will give it a try and see if the short shows up. could be just bad connection in the plug for the harness.

just had a memory flash, when my trouble started I discovered that the switch worked perfectly with the drivers door fully open, that is when if pulled on the harness gently and massaged it and bingo its worked normally ever since,
