Need to replace the audio amp module

Need to replace the audio amp module in a 2008 Vanden Plas. The dealer says it's p/n: C2C29367, but it is no longer produced or available.

Is it necessary to use this exact module? Seems to me that there would be better and newer generic ones available that could work.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks.

There won't be a generic, as the inputs are all optical. The line-level and control signals from the head unit and the CD Changer are carried on a DB2 fiber-optic network which has very limited, if any, aftermarket support. Other cars of the time period use MOST optical systems, which have wide aftermarket support.

A used amp from eBay or somewhere like that is your only hope, I think.

I have recently had to replace my amp due to water ingress through body panel seams. It looked ok until I took it out and opened it up and found it wasn't OK at all.
