New member/owner some basic questions

Hello all. I'm a new member here, and wanted to ask a couple questions of owners with similar vehicles.

I am purchasing a 2004 XJ8 vanden plas this week. I was lucky enough to find one with 111k miles, at a good price, with a service history going back to 2009. Many of the things I was concerned about after researching, have been resolved by the previous owner. Example.....some leaking air shocks have been replaced, the coolant reservoir tank and water pump recently replaced, control arms in the front, etc. Car is in good shape and am happy to be buying my first jaguar.

My previous car was an 97 Audi A4 1.8 Quattro, so I am no stranger to high maintenance foreign cars. I did lots of service on that car.....timing belt, clutch, valve cover, etc. So not a total newb, just a jaguar newb.

So, now for my 2 basic questions......

Its going to need brake pads before long, and I was wondering what members prefer to use on these. Looking for recommendations on a good, long lasting brake pad.

Second question.....what products do you recommend for cleaning the leather seats and general interior (dashboard, etc).

Thanks much. Look forward to contributing here in the future.

Akebono is my choice for brake pads slightly less bite than stock, but much less brake dust.

I find the Zymöl leather cleaner works best for me. Had to copy off Google Translate to get the umlaut over the O !! This really is brilliant stuff, but I use Autoglym Leather Care Balm after the cleaning.

Thanks for the info!

If you're able to get your hands on the Genuine Jaguar leather cleaner, it works very well. I've also used Autoglym products, and have had others swear by them.
