Oil Pan Leak

2 shops, three oil gaskets, one tried a silicon gasket sealant, and two oil pans - still leaks!!

Both shops insist the leak is coming from the edge of the oil pan.

I'm now given two shops in my area a shot at stopping this oil leak. The second shop has also determined that the leak is coming from the edge of the oil pan (both shops also used a dye to determine the leak location). They both installed a new gasket - still leaking. One installed a new oil pan - still leaks. The next shop wants to put in another new oil pan because they think the current one is slightly warped (they think).

Jag no longer makes new parts for this year's car

So when looking on eBay for an oil pan (which there are tons of) how do you determine if it is any good?

Is there a used online parts supplier in the US for these cars?

Any other suggestions for a silicon gasket sealant?

Thanks!

The Oil filter adapter o ring leak mimics an oil pan leak. The oil pan gasket on these are pretty reliable and easy to change and so is the filter adapter o ring. Most shops won't take the time to actually properly diagnose the leak. Change the oil filter oil filter adapter o ring assy. Ask me how I know.
