One day in the life of my XJ - with a twist ......
So most of you on here may be used to me posting about any issues and or recent work completed, as well as pics of detailing / cleaning etc.
Well this is a post with a twist.........
Unlike some of you, but like others, my XJ is my daily driver and she has to perform in any situation. That involves daily trips to shops and back etc, leisure trips in the evening and or weekend, the odd wedding or two here n there, and of course work.
Generally I like to try n keep her as clean as she can be, looking her best, that's just the way I like it, but today was work.....
Work for me is sales and dealing with the construction industry, namely quarries which involve dust (and plenty of it in the summer) and muck (plenty of it in the autumn / winter etc) and today was no exception.
I had to call to see several customers, this involved an early start at 4am and a 300 mile round trip through some of Scotland's stunning scenery
As usual the car was prepared, topped with fuel etc and fairly clean ready good to go. I headed up the A9 to Perth, then M90 to Dundee heading for Aberdeen, but cut off around Fettercairn and onwards up over the Cairn o Mount.....
It's a beautiful driving road, great scenery, but blind summits and sharp bends make it challenging but so worthwhile......
1st call of the day at a customer in Craiglash just outside Banchory.....
2nd call of the day near Dunecht, still not too bad but starting to collect dirt n grime lol
3rd call of the day at a customer just outside Kintore nr Inverurie.....
Last call of the day, another customer also in Kintore nr Inverurie.......
Heading home now, couple of snaps of how she looks now....
Finally home.....
Yes, this ole girl does it all, manages to fill in every role asked of her, love her to bits.
You can get a rough idea of what she goes through, not every day, but there are days like this fairly often, sometimes 400, 500 and up to 900 miles in a day AND finishing it all looking like this.
So, the next time you see a picture like this, when she's cleaned and looking the best she can........
Please know that she doesn't look like that ALL the time, and it takes a fair amount of time and effort to bring her back to her best each and every time lol
Cheers
Jim

I believe people fancy your daily pleasure of motoring along UK's greatest country roads. The price you paid to arrive refreshed and in style notwithstanding any distance and terrain is cleaning and tidying up your beloved XJR. Isn't there a saying that "You are what you Drive"? Would love to see you make one big poster with your Jag on the most intoxicating country roads in Scotland.

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments
There are some beautiful drives here in Scotland, I'm hoping to be able to do the NC500 at some point soon.
The NorthCoast 500 is Scotlands equivalent to route 66 I guess, it's 500 miles around the coast of the North of Scotland. It can take anywhere from 5=9 days depending on what you want to see and or achieve, see here....North Coast 500 - Home

Thanks Ryejag and yes, I've been lucky the last 20 years or so.....
I remember my old boss, he used to come up and spend a week with me "always in the summer" funnily enough. I'd take him around our customers, we'd do a north of Scotland trip and sometimes got amazing weather.
He said to me a few times, I can't believe we pay you to travel around these parts on a daily basis, you are so lucky!
In a little over 20 years, I've been fortunate enough to have been to almost every area of Britain, North, South East and West. I've visited just about every major City / Town, covered the South of England and all over Wales.
I've travelled all over Northern Ireland and spent some time in Eire, but would like to visit and explore more of Eire, such a beautiful place.
Almost every nook and cranny of lower and middle England and the whole of Scotland, including Orkney, Shetlands and the Western Isles.
So many people rush to go abroad to Spain, Portugal, Greece etc etc, and yet have hardly seen most of their own country and what it has to offer.
There's not many square miles I haven't covered in the UK but always on the look out for places I haven't been.
Your back yard is just ever so slightly bigger than mine, with so much more to see I'm sure it would take 2 lifetimes to cover.
Cheers
