I have a 2006 XJ8L with the nav system. My question is does the system have a learning capacity, ie, back roads that I know that works or is it hard-coded from the the CD? In my case I have the original NAV CD.

It's not adaptive; basically you'd just have to update to the latest version which would be 2011-2012; If you have an address in & end up taking back roads etc, it will find you & re-route that way if it's updated to where it has the roads in it...
