I thought worth share this info with other Jaguar X350 Owners - I recently had cause to replace the radiator fan motor and module due to noisy bearings. I found that in order to replace the radiator fan the parts suppliers generally sell the complete radiator fan motor and module with the fan cowling assembly which is obviously expensive. I decided to purchase a pre owned radiator fan motor and module and take a risk that the replacement had good bearings. The pre owned unit bearings were in very good working condition, no noise at all. After I fitted the radiator fan motor and module to the old radiator fan cowling and installed it in the car and it passed a long road test, I decided to investigate how to replace the bearings in my old fan motor and module. Note that the control module for the fan motor is incorporated with the fan motor as one single unit.
1. To gain access first had to remove the control module cover by removing the rubber seal and pry open
2. After removing the cover you have access to the circuit board, you need to disconnect the 4 post connections from the motor stator to the circuit board, I used a stanley knife blade and tapped on it to separate the pin connections
3 Unscrew all 7 small circuit board retaining screws and carefully lift out the circuit board with wiring harness attached
4. There are 2 small bearing, you tap the shaft out of the bearing while the bearing is seated in the housing, then pull off the second bearing
5. Replace bearing as you do make and sure the rotor spins freely around the stator.
6. Reinstall circuit board, screw down and solder the 4 pin connections making sure to protect the circuit board from excess heat and solder
7 Reseal the module cover
