Recommendations for window and windshield films?
South Texas summers are on the "warm" side.
I would like some suggestions on films for the windshield and side windows and sunroof. Minimum tint with maximum heat blocking. 3M Crystalline for the windshield? One shop has given me a good price on Prime XR ceramic. Thanks again. |
3M is probably one of the best.
Wasn't aware that windshield tint was allowed in Texas, unless they've changed the law since I left?? Also I was informed that all vehicles post 2001 or 2002 had UV rated Windshields already, maybe not? I remember my crown vic, 2006 model, had it.... |
AFAIK laminated glass will block UV rays. Most windshields nowadays (if not all) are laminated.
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/glob...ticle12495123/ Laminated glass on other panels, such as side and rear glass, was added for the 2006 XJ8. I am unaware if laminated glass was an option on 04-05 models. https://www.netcarshow.com/jaguar/2006-xj/ |

I had my entire front windshield tinted with LLumar Air80. It allows 80% light through and you cannot tell the windshield has any tint at all.
However, it blocks out a crap ton of heat/UV rays. the difference is incredible. It was the best decision ever in my opinion. I also had LLumar ceramic 15% on the other windows. Obviously some states have different tint laws than FL, but I figured Id give my 0.02 |
but it seems too often, we have to deal with this
