Talking Forum Activity

Six months ago when I first discovered this forum it was interesting but just a bit sleepy. Well things seem to have really amped up of late, at least that's my subjective empression.

Are there any objective data available on site activity ? It seems like we are really rocking, in terms of interesting posts and interested parties. Seems like we have more Jag Techs involved than before and now I'm seeing the occasional supplier tuning in.

Keep up the good work Jag people.

I checked the "new posts" section this a.m. and it was 4 pages long. The place is on fire. Sure miss some of the old hands that have moved on tho.

Hey guys, you're right, activity level of membership numbers / posts etc has certainly risen.
Albeit some time ago we had 30,000 members, most of which were spammers and banned members as we had a problem that really needed dealt with. This resulted in approx 20,000+ being removed from the site.
We then upgraded to Vbulletin software which helped.
More recently, we've attracted more and more techs, although they do seem to come n go a little ( but they are fantastic ) and more and more new members. We've also spent some considerable time trying new ways to beat/slow down the spammers with new introductions that limit new members posting priveleges.
Added on to that I've started a "news letter " going out to all existing members stating that anyone not active for 60 days or more and with a post count of 2 or less will be removed. The idea to keep the members that are interested active to retain their membership of the site.
Recently there have been some new vendors attracted to the site who are pushing sales of their services / products with reduced rates for members of this forum.

Pretty much, its all good at the moment but I'm sure we can drive forward even further. The mods and I do our best to promote the site and keep it clean and user friendly for all.

Thanks

I agree. This is my primary source in defining and solving problems on my XJ8. Keep the informative posts flowing in.

I pop in now and again as do a few other UK Jaguar Forum members.
Likewise, some US members visit the UK Forum.
Best source of info there is I reckon.
