There is a rubber bumper/rest thing attached to the underside of the bonnet lid. One on each side. The lift supports settle onto this res.
I am looking for the part number for these. I seem to only have one.

Ah that explains the residue on my bonnet, mine a both missing. I thought it was tape from the rubbish respray my XJR has had.
