Not stalling on my intake install, the parts must be on a slow boat . I am still checking the mailbox daily for a little orange card telling me its at the post office waiting to be picked up. Any day now, surely.

I added my intake on Wednesday night, and drove it for the first time yesterday to and from the airport. What a sweet sound coming from that supercharger! Yes, I got it for the whine ability. Its hard to tell of any performance gains...i'm still adjusting from the N/A 4.2 that I drove for 6 years prior to this xj.

Glad it arrived, finally! You will need to give the ECU time to adapt but you should be noticing that little traction light flashing more often ;-)

Would it be possible to get them in matt black? Alternatively, how difficult would they be to paint, I'm not sure from the pics how the surface is finished?

My new intake pipe showed up on the front porch today! It looks great! What excellent quality craftsmanship.

It took me all of 10 minutes to install it! Let me get the pictures posted...

Got some presents today as well
New intake pipe and the bosh 010 pump

Gaterback belt, 3lb pulley and a full set of hoses are on the way
Pulley and belt from powerhouse and hoses from Dave Roche

I'm ok with that as i'm sending the intake tube off to be powder coated black anyway

Along with the above I have to replace the front hubs but im waiting on a new set of slotted and drilled rotors before i do that

Cheers

Thumbs up

Dang is a bit hillbilly for Texas !!!

Well I ordered the upgraded pump
I also read that the hose may go due to the added pressure
I ive done just under 140,00 kms so its time to change hoses

I also wanted the upgraded supercharger belt and ended up getting it from powerhose
As the pulley is so cheep and i had an order already i got the pulley. Not sure ill fit it now. but I will do a oil change. I definatly wont machine the snout on the car or via sanding. I'll do that on my milling machine and also do a bearing replacement at the same time

As for the intake, i'd only fit it after power coating it black anyway, add $8 aud for that

Ive also got minicats on the way. So some time in the future ill take the cats off and decat the guts. Once that is done ill weld in a pipe to improve flow. The minicat screws into the rear port and the sensor into that so no codes are generated
I doubt ill change the exhaust pipes until i actually have an exhaust pipe issue

You probably also know i have upgraded the OEM nav to a wince based nav computer. Somewhere along the line ill swap that out for my new android based unit. That will give me email and torque apps on the nav and not via the phone

So the list is actually a lot longer

Cheers

Dropped of the intake tube today to be coated

I ended up opting for matt black ceramic
Expect it back before the weekend but I may still have to wait for the other parts

Pictures to follow

Cheers

Looking forwards to seeing pics of the tube done in matt black.

Edited as noticed planned method of decat is correct, note to self read posts completely before replying!

Hi Cambo,

Stage 2 is getting nearer, been working through various issues with clearances on various bits to get the largest possible size tube in there, i'm actually modifying the current crossover pipe to enlarge and smooth out plus changing the shape where it meets the throttle body to again improve airflow. We should be there soon!

Caldoofy,
Thought i mentioned welding a tube in to the cat for flow. In any case it wont be soon.
I wait till a st come my way that i can modify or mine get blocked.

I will have the minicats in the toolbox at the ready though

Cheers
