Is there a bluetooth audio adapter for 2008 XJ Vanden Plas??
Hello! I've been searching all over this site to figure out what I can install into my 2008 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas so that I can play music from my phone through the bluetooth to the car?? I've seen quite a few instructional threads about it being quite simple to install it in the back around the CD changer but I can't find what exactly it is that is being installed.. Does anyone know what device or adapter can be installed so that I can stream music to the car? Thanks!

See this link;
https://jaguar.willcoxonline.com/part-4 This stuff was written by guy called Ben Wilcox from the UK forum www.jaguarforum.com If you've got a single CD player you can do this hack. |
Ohhh man that seems intense.. I was hoping for something a little more simpler.

What about something like this?
www.banggood.com/QC3_0-Bluetooth-Car-FM-Transmitter-Wireless-Radio-Adapter-USB-Charger-MP3-Player-p-1248299.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN (there's a bunch of them - search "Bluetooth FM Transmitter" on that website) Edit: actually I've ordered this from China, so I'll be able to report in a couple of weeks. Looks like it might fit the front cig lighter nicely. www.banggood.com/Dual-USB-ast-Car-Charger-Hands-free-FM-Transmitter-MP3-Player-Car-Bluetooth-Adapter-p-1227538.html?rmmds=myorder&stayold=1&cur_warehouse =CN My Carcam is wired to the rear 12v socket, though there's another cig lighter there. Wastes wood with the front one open lol. |
Your links are bad Chris.

Well I was hoping to do something inline with the CD player but like a bluetooth reciever that just plugs in... Ive seen a few on the forums but I can't find what it is that theyre actually using.

I bought an isimple Tranzit Blu HF
:its an inline fm modulator, so the quality is pretty good with minimal interferance: https://isimple.com/catalog/professi...-kits/isfm2351 |
I just put my Amazon Tap on top of the dashboard and play music from the phone. Plus I can keep the Tap charged using the cigarette lighter port. Not elegant, but it works for me.

I would suggest that if you get an FM modulator, get one that hooks up and disconnects the antennae when it is being used. I have one that doesn't and found some apps and websites where you enter your zip code and it tells you what are good stations for a modulator since there are no or weak signals, but it still goofs up occasionally and I get static or chatter from nearby stations. I'm about to have installed a unit that kills the antennae when the modulator is working so you always are guaranteed a clear signal with no stray radio signals interfering with the BT through the modulator.

You probably want veffremov's Bluetooth connection adapter box. Check the link below. I got one several years ago for my '08 VDP and I love it. It gets spliced into the fiber bus in the trunk as a pseudo CD changer, and works in parallel to the Bluetooth phone connection. Big thumbs up!

I'm an audiophile and this works and sounds excellent even though ALL Bluetooth is Mp3.

Looks very simple and its cheap, what more can one ask for ?

I use a GG FlexSmart X5 to stream music. it connects thru your radio automatically.Runs on battery or thru power outlet. very easy to use. I connect mine in the backseat power plug and I never have to think about it. Under $50.00
