Torque Spec-intake manifold to air intake elbow

I've looked in every tech manual, including the ones referenced throughout this forum, with no joy. Can anyone tell me, with confidence, what the torque is for the bolts connecting the plastic intake manifold to the metal air intake elbow? 24nm?

Is it maybe in the workshop manual? Free download or cheap online e.g. ebay.

It'll be "not much" as all such things are, so they seal but are not buckled or broken, and there'll be a tolerance as all engineering things have even when the tolerance isn't stated :)

As a rule of thumb, people over-tighten. Don't :)

(I don't mean to patronise in case you know this stuff!)

Itshaneclarke,

You can download the official Jaguar X350 Workshop Manual in six sections from this forum at the links below. The torque spec you are seeking will be in the Powertrain section:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/md...f+contents.pdf
http://www.mediafire.com/download/aa...nformation.pdf
http://www.mediafire.com/download/n3...2.+Chassis.pdf
http://www.mediafire.com/download/9b...Powertrain.pdf
http://www.mediafire.com/download/0i...Electrical.pdf
http://www.mediafire.com/download/4j...+and+Paint.pdf

To narrow down your search of the 3,500+ pages, use the Acrobat Reader search function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F to bring up the search window) and search keywords such as "intake."

Cheers,

Don

Believe 15 ft lbs is the max, set mine at 13 if my memory is right.

Not very tight at all, think 3/4ft lb = 1 nm, more or less.

Someone else should know
