Help. Please. I was very carefully changing the cruise control buttons on my 2005 XJ8 VDP. I had removed the two screws holding the air bag then disconnected the battery and left it for 30 minutes before proceeding. A passing thunderstorm caused to to close up the car and it wasn't until later when I attempted to reconnect the battery I realized that the truck was locked with the battery disconnected.

I remember seeing an emergency truck release in the trunk but I don't know how to get to it. I figure it must involve removing the back seat but that's where I need the help.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

There is a key slot near the number plate lights, it will open the boot mechanically, it's just a bit stiff to turn it with the key but it'll open it.

 

Might help to press down hard on the trunk lid when you try to turn the key.

Hello everyone!!
I purchased this without a Key. 2018 Jaguar XJ 5.0 premium sort wheelbase.
3 doors are open. Front pass door is locked. The trunk and glove box will not open. The door lock button on the inside and outside will not unlock or lock the doors. Car battery is fully charged. when the outside lock button is pushed the horn beeps twice. I need access to the trunk to get access to the key module for programming a new key. The dealer says this car is in security mode hence that’s why the door locks are not working. And glovebox and trunk won’t open. The dealer also informed me it could cost as much as $2000 for a replacement module and two replacement keys and labor.

I tried pulling up on the rear seat base but I thought I was going to break it with how much strength I was using. Please if anybody knows how to remove the rear seat properly please let me know. I seen this post and I probably could get into the trunk if I could remove the rear seat. As seen in this posting. This guy stickie seems very knowledgeable and any help is appreciated. There is no mechanical release seen anywhere. The rear button on the bumper does not have a key hole.
